There are many ways to automate your dissolution tester. Vessel mount probes can be installed in your vessel covers and connected to the AutoPlus autosampler. The AutoMag or SuperMag magazine can automate your Vision Elite 8 to accommodate auto-probes for automatic sampling with the Vision AutoPlus, and the AutoMag can automate sampling on the CD14. The AutoFill collector fits onto the AutoPlus and automates the sample collection process. Collection racks designed for various systems are available. The Media-Mate Plus automates the supply of media to your tester. A fiber optic vessel cover for your Vision tester accommodates a Pion fiber-optic UV monitoring system. A Hanson UV-1900 On-Line UV-Vis Spectrophotometer will automate sample analysis.
Automated sampling Overview
Connect your Elite 8, Classic 6, or CD14 to the Teledyne Hanson Vision AutoPlus autosampler, to automate dissolution sampling. Vessel-mount probes can connect your tester to the AutoPlus. The Elite 8 can also be connected to the AutoPlus through magazines and magazine probes. Hanson offers two options: an AutoMag for 1 or 2 liter sampling, and the SuperMag, which can handle 1 liter, small volume, or Chinese small volume autosampling. The CD14 can be connected to the AutoPlus with the AutoMag magazine. The Vision AutoPlus comes with a choice of 6 or 8 sampling channels, and DissoScan™ (1-bath) or Maximizer™ (up to 3 baths) configurations.
Automated Sampling with Vessel-Mount Probes
For automated sampling with vessel-mount probes, connect your Vision G2 Classic 6, Vision G2 Elite 8, or CD14 dissolution tester to the Vision AutoPlus using vessel-mount probes and tubing harnesses. The return-to-vessel option requires a return port fitting which fits into the vessel cover. Vessel-mount probes are stationary probes mounted directly onto your vessel’s cover. Adjustable-length styles allow you to set a specific sampling position. For more information on vessel-mount probes see the Dissolution Tester Accessories page.
Automated Sampling with Magazine Mounted Probes
For automated sampling with magazine-mounted probes, connect your Vision G2 Elite 8, or CD14 dissolution tester to the Vision AutoPlus using a magazine with magazine-mounted auto probes and tubing harnesses. The return-to-vessel option requires a return port fitting which fits into the vessel cover. RTV (return to vessel) probes or digital temperature probes can be used in the magazine’s second probe position. Use the AutoMag magazine for 1 L or 2 L only testing on your Elite 8 or CD14. Use the SuperMag magazine for interchangeable 150 mL (SV), 250 mL (CSV) and 1 L testing on your Elite 8 tester. The CD14 options include a 12-position dual AutoMag, 12 position probe kits with sample and return probes, and 12-position digital temperature probes.
The Vision G2 Elite 8 and the CD14 dissolution testers can use the AutoMag system for automated sampling with magazine mounted probes. The Elite 8 can accommodate a 1-liter AutoMag (74-107-010), a 2-liter AutoMag (74-107-040), or a SuperMag (74-107-020). Accessories include auto-probes, RTV (return to vessel) probes, and digital temperature probes. The CD14 tester can be automated with a 12-position AutoMag, 12-position probe kits with sample and return probes (PEEK or 316 SS), and 12 digital temperature probes. The AutoMag can be factory installed or field installed.
The Vision G2 Elite 8 can use the SuperMag (74-107-020) system for automated sampling with magazine mounted probes. Accessories include auto-probes, RTV (return to vessel) probes, and digital temperature probes. The SuperMag can be factory installed or field installed.
Automated Fraction Collection (AutoFill)
For Automated fraction collection, the Vision AutoPlus autosampler comes with a choice of two Vision® AutoFill™ collectors, the DissoScan™ (1 bath) or the Maximizer™ (up to 3 baths). The Vision AutoFill collector is a sample collector designed for seamless integration with the Vision AutoPlus. Vision AutoFill accessories include choice of collection racks with 13 x 100 or 16 x 100 mm test tubes for UV-Vis, 12 x 32 mm vials for HPLC, sample trays with 12 x 32 mm vials for UPLC®, and more.
Automated Media Preparation
The Media-Mate™ Plus preheats, filters, deaerates, and volumetrically dispenses media in less than 5 minutes. It is one of the most effective tools in ensuring successful Performance Verification Tests (PVT). It exceeds USP / US FDA recommended media deaeration specifications and saves time by dispensing media into 6 or 7 vessels simultaneously. By significantly reducing dissolved oxygen levels, it helps facilitate successful passage of PVT tests by eliminating test variability caused by more sensitive Prednisone tablets. The Teledyne Hanson Media-Mate Plus is compatible with Hanson’s dissolution testers, and well as most all other dissolution testers.
Fiber Optic Dissolution
Hanson Research is proud to collaborate with Pion to offer fiber optic dissolution monitoring for dissolution labs around the world. Pion’s line of fiber optic systems covers all of your in situ UV monitoring needs.
The Fiber Optic ADD cover can be used by customers conducting in-situ UV monitoring with Pion fiber-optic UV and Vision series testers including the Vision G2 Classic 6, the Vision G2 Elite 8 and the CD14. The new Fiber Optic ADD Vessel Cover combines three features crucial to lab productivity:
- The ease of use of our Easi- Lock vessel covers.
- Our automatic dosage delivery (ADD) capability allowing dosages pre-loaded into sealed humidity chambers to be manually introduced almost simultaneously into all 6 or 8 vessels.
- And now the ability to quickly and easily mount Pion’s fiber-optic probes to the vessel covers.
The part number for the Fiber Optic ADD Cover, Vision, is 74-107-053. Request Information.
