This week, over 100 people attended the 6th edition of the Skin Summer School held on June 19-21, 2017 at the Polo Tecnologico di Pavia in Italy. The summer school program, organized by the University of Pavia, was focused on the quality assurance of topical and transdermal cosmetic products and was established with the goal of contributing to the improvement of the quality system and the final product.
A series of seminars were given by leading experts that provided valuable knowledge in understanding and applying regulatory guidelines, implementing corrective actions, and carrying out quality-control process checks. Bruna Lousada, diffusion product specialist at Kinesis, spoke about the diffusion test as a non-invasive approach for testing topical and transdermal products.
“I have many clients throughout Western Europe who are facing new challenges that are specific to the EU personal care industry such as the ban on animal testing,” stated Bruna Lousada. “By introducing students to the pioneering technology of Hanson diffusion instruments, they are given new tools and solutions to perform non-invasive diffusion tests that comply with the EU regulations.”
